Halloween Haul: Midsummer Scream 2023

Do you ever wish all those spooky shops you follow on Instagram had a store front? Better yet, wish they were all on one long, spooky street where you could go door-to-door, like an adult trick-or-treating game?

Then you would love the vendor floor at Midsummer Scream 2023. Every year it’s a blast to wander the aisles to see old friends and meet new ones as I shop for Halloween treats.

And this year’s shopping was exciting because I picked up one item, in particular, that I’ve had my eye on for 2-3 years. I can’t wait to share it with you in this year’s Halloween haul!

Halloween Haul: Midsummer Scream 2023

I mean, honestly—who doesn’t want a bag of spooky shit when you love Halloween?

This year’s haul! Let’s dive in. And don’t worry—I’m going to tell you where everything is from + link you to their site. (My hope is you’ll find a new spooky small business to love.)

We’ll start with the bag: it’s from Memento Mori Goods, which was one of the first spooky brands I remember shopping regularly in the early days of Spooky Little Halloween. It was so much fun to see how they’ve grown, and this bag with its double set of straps (one short, one long) was a must-have for road trips.

I’ve also rarely met a sticker I didn’t like, so these both came home with me.

More stickers, this time from The Enchanted Bruja. One of my fave laptop stickers (this one) is from Alex’s shop as well. I stopped back by her booth Sunday to grab a few goodies, and by that point my suitcase was full so I had to opt for small goodies.

New-to-me was Heidiroo, a shop FULL of adorable art prints and stickers. The print gave me all the “Over the Garden Wall” vibes and was my first purchase of the weekend.

A close-up of the stickers because that This is Halloween design is ADORABLE. So is the bat with glasses. 🦇🤓

I was a repeat customer at the Lucky Hellcat booth. After picking up a few prints and stickers last year, this year I decided I needed a T-shirt. The party hats. The trick-or-treat. The Halloween III nod. I love it all! It’s also a perfect design for cropping my own shirt, which is quickly becoming my new tie-up tee look.

If you’re a Treats Not Tricks subscriber, you know Catfight Coffee was on my list to check out…and they did not disappoint. I had a small sip of their iced caramel latte Friday night and a cold brew on Sunday. Both were delicious. I grabbed a bag of their dark roast to enjoy at home and can’t wait for you to try it too!

My lil’ pumpkin trick-or-treater from Abbybelle Folk Art, who you’ll see on the site again tomorrow as we kick off this year’s Halloween Hunting series.

I met Abby the first time I ever went to Midsummer Scream, and it’s been so much fun to see her every year since. If you’re looking for original, unique art, you will LOVE her shop.

If you’ve ever listened to an Atmosfearic playlist from Your Best Halloween Ever, you’ve heard a Midnight Syndicate song. Their music is used at haunted attractions all over the country, which I think is SO cool. Fingers crossed Edward Douglas will be a guest on By Pumpkin’s Light soon.

In the meantime, I had the grab a magnet for my spooky freezer door and a keychain.

Two years ago, Brian Remillard of BrianBrain Studio emailed me out of the blue about his brain bucket Kickstarter. I loved it, immediately backed it, and shared it with you guys.

I mentioned in my recap post how nice it was to meet him. It was even better to grab some of his killer stickers. The colors are so vibrant, and they’re HUGE! Now I need more water bottles…

That dapper bat is just SO good!

My prize purchase for the weekend was this black and orange striped cardigan from Black Thorn LA. I’ve eyed it on their website for several years and have always missed the chance to grab one. When I saw my size in person, I knew this sweater was coming home with me—especially since I live somewhere I’ll actually use it now! It’s going to look so cute over my Halloween tees this fall.

Can’t pass by Austin Pardun‘s booth without grabbing a few new stickers.

Carrie Anne Hudson was the sweetest ghoul! You might remember her drink pins I shared early last summer. In addition to being SO adorably dressed all weekend long, she also had a great selection of her prints and pins. I purchased the prints for my bedroom—she was kind enough to throw in the pins, just cause.

And finally, you know your ghoul HAD to pick up something at the Backstitch Bruja booth! I love that they offer discounts if you pay in cash, so I treated myself to one of the Black Widow collection bags I’ve been eyeing, as well as one of the new Halloween tote bags. It is soft and huge. It has a zipper across the top AND a zipper pocket inside. Another perfect travel tote!
